The Practice Nurses run their own clinics and are specifically trained in heart disease, diabetes and respiratory disease. They are also available for help and advice on vaccination for foreign travel, family planning and cervical smears. Appointments to see the Practice Nurses can be made via reception.
The health care assistants offer BP checks, new patient medicals, NHS health checks, asthma/COPD reviews, INR monitoring, spirometry, ambulatory BP monitoring, ECG’s. Appointments can be made via reception.
The Practice Director is involved in managing all the business aspects of the Practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide high quality patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Director supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
The administration team process all the incoming documentation. They ensure this is all recorded in patients records and then forward to the GP's for them to action as necessary. They will also document on patients records any information which the GP's highlight as important.
The Secretaries deal with referrals to hospital consultants as well as calling patients into the practice if in need of specialised clinic appointments. They aslo deal will all the incoming documentation and ensure it is processed promptly and correctly. They will be happy to assist you with any queries you may have on these matters
Mairi-Anna our clinical pharmacist is a highly qualified health professional who has trained for many years to become a specialist in medicines and how they work. Before joining the practice she worked as a Community Pharmacist. She will work with our practice team to ensure that your medicines will help you get better and stay well. A clinical pharmacist can review all your medicines, and go through various checks for each medicine this might involve having blood tests or having blood pressure taken.
Cardiac Nurses
The heart failure nurses hold clinics at the practice as well as working with our patients in the community. They are based at Milbrow Clinic - 0151 495 5264.
District Nurses
The District Nursing Team work with us within the community. They are based with us and can be contacted on 0151 511 5651.
The health visiting team are involved in the running of the child health surveillance clinics, as well as visiting all of our new mums and baby’s. They are based at the Child Development Centre, Warrington Road, Widnes - 0151 424 4686.
